Metabolism and Health 50+

What is metabolism?

Metabolism is a chemical process that transforms the calories we have put by food into the body with help of oxygen, transforming it into energy. For body health 50+ energy is needed both at work and at rest. During the rest of the day, we use energy for breathing, circulation and cell renewal functions.

Does metabolism slow down over the years?

Aging affects the speed of metabolism, but physical activity is also important. With years we feel a fall in energy, that is normal, if we do not exercise, that means that our body does not use all the calories we have eaten through food and drinks.  Women have a problem that after 50+ there is a drop in the level of estrogen which can be the cause of the decline in the level of metabolism and impact on health. So it increases your body weight.

How to Improve Metabolic Activity?

First of all, physical activity.

Depending on your preference, but be sure to stay active, whether it is long walking, cycling, fitness, jogging, dancing. You can take time for yourself, practice at home 2-3 times a week, or go to a fitness center, arrange a training type with your coach. If you relax, the metabolism slows down, the body will get older, you will gain weight and feel old and slow, which you certainly do not want to.

On second place is nutrition.

Accept the fact that we do not need nutrition and the same amount of food as if we were 30.

The excess of calories the body transforms into fat is deposited first around the waist, then the entire body.

Make changes in your diet, they do not have to be rigorous but reduce your sugar to a minimum.

Let your diet be inspired by vegetables, cereals, fruit.

Find new recipes, prepare new meals, this will be a positive stimulus to change.

Already after a short time, you will get more energy, feel more positive and therefore healthier.

What is the good choice for health and improving metabolic activity?

With combinations of fruits, vegetables, proteins and good fats in your smoothie can be ideal for skin and body.

Many people can feel satisfied with a smoothie for breakfast. So why not, prepare it some for your health, beauty and improving metabolic activity.

If you haven’t time at morning, make your smoothie ahead of time and keep it in the fridge in a tightly sealed container for tomorrow.  Keep your smoothie in glass jars or the Blender bottle.
